Two things I've become a fan of this week:

Stargate Universe (http://www.syfy.com/universe/): After watching the first three episodes of SGU, I'm convinced that it is the first series of the Stargate franchise to do justice to the original movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111282/) from back in 1994. Though I was a fan of Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, this newest incarnation has a dramatic edge and element of realism that the 1994 film had but was somewhat absent from the first two series.

Pirate Radio (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1131729/): This is a great film for two hours of light entertainment. It is at times a little crude (hence the R rating), but the classic rock and roll soundtrack and great characters will bring out the rebel in anyone, without delving too deep (it is set on a ship, after all) into the issues of the time.

You kids get off my lawn!

Now that we have a lawn, I thought it was appropriate to create a blog entitled "get off my lawn." However, there are no kids in our neighborhood for me to yell at, and I can't very well tell the dog to get off the lawn.

For those of you unfamiliar with the origin of this phrase, Callie got me a birthday card several years ago with a picture of an old man with the text "Another year older, another year closer to yelling 'You kids get off my lawn!'"
